Meet Hav, our Summer inspired Gnome
Hav is Kerneweck (Cornish) for Summer.
The trees are now in full, heavy bloom, basking in the peak of their summer glory! Many in such as the elderflower which fills the fields with it's delicious scent! The grass is green and lush, and there are golden, sun-drenched mornings galore!
Something magical is happening in an old abandoned trees stump deep in the woods..... Listen carefully......... Those tiny snores that could be heard coming from the stump all through the past 3 seasons, have stopped, and there is a distinct sound of rustling of dry, warm twigs.
For 3 seasons, the abandoned tree stump has been home to Hav - he has slept away Autumn, Winter and Spring, and like his brothers, Kynnyav, the Autumn Gnome, Gwav, the Winter Gnome, and Gwenton, the Spring gnome, their gnome magic keeping them nourished for all the seasons they sleep through....... Hav has been using the last 3 seasons to conserve his energy for the hot summer to come!
Dawn breaks on a bright, shimmering world. The dawn chorus is majestic - and Hav awakens and whistles back to the birds - the sparrows, starlings and blackbirds, and the swallows are swooping overhead!
"Interesting......" Hav ponders, it feels like today may be the first heatwave of the season! Hav pulls on his beautiful bright yellow magic socks - it's so hot in the summer, too hot for shoes! These magic socks keep his feet safe from any prickles and spikes! His hat is dressed with a wildflowed wreath around the brim, and he's got a little bee trinket attached to the top - his favourite food is honey, and he makes sure to pick up his honey dibber before leaving his home for the day - just in case any bees offer him a taste!
Today's tasks are to fill up the dry buckets and puddles, so that his wildlife friends can have a refreshing drink, and he will check on his gnome friends to make sure they are all shaded in their respective homes and are safe throughout the summer."

50g professionally scoured perendale wool (uncarded) from Hannah's Flock.
10g yellow wool cloud
10g wool pack containing green and pink locks, plus some undyed teeswater for his beard!
10g cream mixed species fibre
Instruction booklet
Kit with props: as above, plus bee charm and honey dibber
You'll also need a felting mat and needles (not supplied in the kit)
