Our First Felting Workshop!

I am still absolutely buzzing from last night! It was my first time teaching a needle felting workshop, and I am over the moon with how it went.  Before I started farming, I spent over 15 years as a qualified teacher in Philosophy. Even with all that classroom experience, I have to admit I had a few butterflies! I had never taught anything "creative" before, but as it turned out, I need not have been nervous at all.

Our lovely attendees jumped straight into making their very own bowls, even though they had zero previous felting experience. My goodness, what wonderfully odd bowls they created!

The evening was filled with laughter, fun, and lots of beautifully textured makes.  One of my absolute favourite things about working with wool is seeing what it becomes in an individual’s hand. Even when everyone starts with the exact same materials, each person creates something entirely different. That is the true beauty of artistic creation!

My mind is completely full of exciting ideas for the future! Here is what is on the horizon:

Sharing my love of wool and teaching people how to create has easily been a highlight of my year so far. I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who came and made it so special. I cannot wait to do it all again!
