This Raw fibre is "semi sorted," meaning some locks have been pulled and some vegetable matter (VM) has been removed, and there may be areas with heavy VM, but trust me, there s beautiful fibre waiting to shine underneath.

In alpaca fibre terms, there are 3 separate areas of the fleece, and these are named as follows:Blanket or Firsts - this is the main body of the alpaca, it's usually the longest staple, and the softest fibre on the fleece.Seconds are the neck, legs and belly fleece, and are a little coarser, and shorterThirds are usually all the scraggly bits left over! These are hand dyed in a fire mix. The nature of this fibre means there may be a small amount of VM, and due to the wet winter we had, there may be some remaining dirt, and may be fragile in places, but they have been very well washed.
