Introducing our "wonky wool"! We all have those "whoopsie" moments when something doesn't quite come out right. But as my grandmother used to say, "everything has a purpose" This wool, mohair and alpaca fibre is the leftovers from processing, when things have not quite gone to plan. As such, it not good enough to make it into my curly wool or ringlet listings but it is perfect for core or stuffing, or accenting work. It is sold in a 20g batch and has a mixture of colours and fibres It really is a lucky dip as to what you get, pictures are indicative only, and our stock will change as more whoopsie moments happen! Please note that this will contain some vm (vegetable matter such as hay and straw) so you may need to tease it out of the fibre before use.

Mule - Blue Faced Leicester x swaledale, natural undyed locks - 10g bunch wool locks

Our Mule locks! Mules are a cross between a Blue faced Leicester and a swaledale sheep. Natural and undyed, these came from Ian's flock, a local farmer who supplies me with winter hay and straw, and I buy fleeces from him Sold in a 10g bunch with an approx 9" staple length. Perfect wool locks, which are really popular for santa beards, tomtes and other fae folk! Great for felting, both needle felting or wet felting, and is popular with doll artists for rerooting, or making wigs. Due to the nature of this fibre, despite being washed mutiple times, a small amount of dirt may remain on some of the tips. This can usually be removed by lightly rubbing, or you could wash out the ends a little more if needed. As with all of our fibre, there may be a small amount of VM in the locks

Cloud grey carded wool - 10g Featured in our Hazy Skies box, this is the cloud grey that is reminiscent of an incoming shower! More about our carded wool: Our carded wool has been professionally carded by the Natural Fibre Company in Launceston, Cornwall. It consists of wools from our own flock, mixed with some Devon and Cornwall Longwool from Tregondale, and some Perendale from Hannah's Flock. Our carded wool felts wonderfully - the Devon and Cornwall Longwool wool gives it a coarser texture, which means it's fast to felt. It's then been hand dyed by myself. To get the best results from our carded wool, take the length and gently pull side to side to free up the fibres, and it will form a mesh that's easy to use in all felted creations and other fibre arts.

The Spirit of Spring includes: 6 x spring inspired colours of 10g (approx) of carded wool 20g Spring Time mix curly wool More about our fibres: Our carded wool has been professionally carded by the Natural Fibre Company in Launceston, Cornwall. It consists of wools from our own flock, mixed with some Devon and Cornwall Longwool from Tregondale, and some Perendale from Hannah's Flock. Our carded wool felts wonderfully - the Devon and Cornwall Longwool wool gives it a coarser texture, which means it's fast to felt. It's then been hand dyed by myself. To get the best results from our carded wool, take the length and gently pull side to side to free up the fibres, and it will form a mesh that's easy to use in all felted creations and other fibre arts. We are really pleased to now be able to offer uncarded cream core wool from our local mill! We have been working with our local mill to buy their waste wool, which is leftover from their spinning machines. Our uncarded core wool has been been scoured (professionally cleaned), and it may have a very small amount of VM which is easily removed. It's made up from a mixture of breeds, so no batch is the same. We can now offer cream, or brown/grey (which is available to purchase in a different listing) Perfect for stuffing or core wool!
