Uncarded Cream Core mixed fibre noil for stuffing and felting 100g

13 available W4JLmZz

We are really pleased to now be able to offer uncarded cream core wool from our local mill! We have been working with our local mill to buy their waste wool, which is leftover from their spinning machines. Our uncarded core wool has been been scoured (professionally cleaned), and it may have a very small amount of VM which is easily removed. It's made up from a mixture of breeds, so no batch is the same. We can now offer cream, or brown/grey (which is available to purchase in a different listing) Perfect for stuffing or core wool!

Description

We are really pleased to now be able to offer uncarded cream core fibre from our local mill!

Our uncarded core has been been scoured (professionally cleaned)

It's made up from a mixture of breeds, and species, so contains wool, alpaca and mohair so no batch is the same.

Our core fibre is NOIL fibre.  Noil is byprodcut of spinning - it's the short strands and knots combed out of yarn before spinning.   As such, due to the short staple length, it's not suitable to be carded.

We can now offer cream, or brown/grey (which is available to purchase in a different listing)

Perfect for stuffing or core wool, and a great alternative to using synthetic poly fil, our core fibres are 100% natural and biodegradable

Please note, our core fibre does contain some VM (vegetable matter such as hay bits)

What is core wool?

Core wool is the basis for most 3d scupltural needle felts.

It's used to create the 'body' of your make - it's what you form the shape for your project from

Later, you'll add a top coat, or other fibres to cover up the core, and create your project

Lovely to needlefelt with

Sharon Claridge · July 2024

This is lovely to needlefelt with and the short fibres give a lovely smooth finish and make it easy to define details in the shape before adding the colour top coat. Because they're so short you can't really draw it out for wrapping around an armature but I use my carded scraps for that part so it wouldn't put me off buying this again. A massive bonus is it is relatively near to me in Cornwall so I can support a local business.

Thank you so much for your review, and your photo! I agree, carded wool is better for wrapping armature with! I'm really pleased you like this as core, as I've had a number of people also saying it's great to sculpt with!
