The nature of this fibre means there may be a small amount of VM, and due to the wet winter we had, there may be some remaining dirt, and may be fragile in places, but they have been very well washed.

Felting Mat, 100% UK Herdwick Wool, 2 packNew to our store! 100% UK sourced herdwick wool mats/pads Our brand new felting mats are made from 100% UK sourced herdwick wool, and has been professionally felted onto a centre of hessian. Measuring approx 15cm x 15cm with a thickness of 1cm, these are sold in a pack of 2. Some customers may like to use one mat at a time, while others may prefer to double up to make a thicker mat. Our mats do not have covers, so some customers may prefer to make a cover for them so that the herdwick fibres do not shed onto their work, but this is purely a matter of preference for each artist. Our mats are 100% biodegradable, so when you have finished with it, you can then use it in your garden, for example around tender plants to help reduce slug damages!
Carded Wool and Fibre
Hand Dyed, Strawberry Pink Mohair Carded Roving, 10g(v)Experience one of the finest fibres! Our pure mohair roving was produced from our own angora goat fibre, (mohair) and professionally scoured and carded into roving by the Natural Fibre Company in Launceston This fibre comes from all of our angora goats, Barvus, Barthek, Boudicca and Baya Mohair is a super soft and shiny natural fibre, with a long staple length. As such, our carded roving behaves almost like combed tops - the fibres do not naturally mesh together like carded wool does. As such, it can be used in the place of tops, and is perfect for using as hair on felted dolls, angels or fairies, or used as top coats for a fur like effect on animal makes. There may still be a small amount of VM, which is easily removed. This fibre is super soft and silky, and ideal for spinning on it's own, or to blend with wools for your own preference when spinning.

This means that our sheep are never sent for meat, and as such, their wool is suited to vegetarians and some vegans too! All our sheep taken care of to very high welfare standards, and most have Cornish or Celtic names! Our land on which they graze is managed without the use of man-made chemicals. You can be assured that our sheep will live out their natural lives with us, which makes our products attractive to vegetarians, or those concerned about animal welfare. It consists of wools from our own flock, mixed with some Devon and Cornwall Longwool from Tregondale, and some Perendale from Hannah's Flock. Our carded wool felts wonderfully - the Devon and Cornwall Longwool wool gives it a coarser texture, which means it's fast to felt. It's then been hand dyed by myself. To get the best results from our carded wool, take the length and gently pull side to side to free up the fibres, and it will form a mesh that's easy to use in all felted creations and other fibre arts.

This fibre comes from Tregondale Farm, set near Bodmin Moor and not far from my own farm - I visited the farm during shearing and picked the fleeces as they were being shorn, so can confirm exceptionally high welfare standards!
