Tops, Batts, Carded, Felt & Core
In this section you will find all of our fibres that have been prepared in different ways - we have carded fibres, tops, batts and felt too!
Carded fibres - we have pure wool, AND natural fibre blends too!
Our carded wool is expertly processed by the Natural FIbre Company in Launceston, and is a mix of both fine and coarse wools to ensure they are great for needle felting, spinning and weaving.
We also have carded natural fibres which are a blend of wool, mohair and alpaca too!
Our Tops are combed wool fibres that have been aligned so they run parallel, and during processing, most short fibers, tangles, and debris are removed. The result is a long, smooth, even rope-like piece of wool fibre called a top.
Our carded batts are made here and carded on our drum carder by hand! A blend of wools and other natural fibres, these batts are perfect for any fibre arts.
Whether you're a spinner, felter, or textile artist, our carded fibres deliver consistent texture, easy handling, and beautiful results.
Available in natural shades and rich hand-dyed colors, all of our fibres are great for:
-
Wet felting and needle felting
-
Hand spinning and drop spindle spinning
-
Weaving and fiber art
-
Stuffing, doll making, and Waldorf crafts
-
DIY textiles and home décor

100% Wool Felt, various colours available, prefelt for feltingIntroducing our 100% wool felt sheets Our felt sheets are 100% wool, and are made in the EU from EU wool. Unfortunately there are no British companies that produce coloured wool felt, so I have scoured the internet for a very high quality wool felt with as little travel miles as I can. This comes from Germany. Our felt is very soft to the touch, is not crinkly, nor does it contain any synthetic fibres. The sheets are 9 x 12", which is 30 cm x 23 cm They are 400 gsm, and have a thickness of 1.2mm Perfect for felt crafts, our felt can also be used for needle felting, as prefelt. I will be uploading photos of each individual colour, so please bear with me while the felt is in transit - it will be here next week, so any orders for this felt will be dispatched AFTER 28th November, or sooner if it arrives. PLEASE NOTE colours may appear different on differing screens and monitors.

Cloud Grey Carded Wool, 10g,Cloud grey carded wool - 10g Featured in our Hazy Skies box, this is the cloud grey that is reminiscent of an incoming shower! More about our carded wool: Our carded wool has been professionally carded by the Natural Fibre Company in Launceston, Cornwall. It consists of wools from our own flock, mixed with some Devon and Cornwall Longwool from Tregondale, and some Perendale from Hannah's Flock. Our carded wool felts wonderfully - the Devon and Cornwall Longwool wool gives it a coarser texture, which means it's fast to felt. It's then been hand dyed by myself. To get the best results from our carded wool, take the length and gently pull side to side to free up the fibres, and it will form a mesh that's easy to use in all felted creations and other fibre arts.

Combed Top UK Shetland Wool dyed in Baby Blue Tones, 25gNew to our store! UK sourced Combed Shetland Wool top dyed in Cranberry Red Tones, sold in 25g amounts. Introducing our latest addition - this soft, combed UK Shetland Wool has been dyed in Cranberry Red Tones. This high-quality wool is sourced from UK flocks and is soft making it a delight to work with. Not only is it soft, but it is also a quick felting fibre, perfect for a variety of crafting projects. What sets our combed wool apart from many of the 'big box' stores is it's sustainability, and consideration of the miles many commercial wools travel before being sold in the UK. Unlike wool that has travelled thousands of miles, (most big box stores source wool from New Zealand, and other countries), ours has a very low carbon footprint. By supporting other UK farms, we ensure that the wool comes from flocks with excellent welfare standards, guaranteeing that it has not been sourced from farms that practice mulesing. This fibre is perfect for wet felting, needle felting

Iris Purple Carded Wool 10gIris Purple carded wool - 10g More about our carded wool: Our carded wool has been professionally carded by the Natural Fibre Company in Launceston, Cornwall.
