Light ash brown Grey Faced Dartmoor, rare breed sheep (v)These long, grey faced dartmoor locks are approx 6-9" in length. These locks come from a small flock of grey faced dartmoor sheep kept as pets at pennywort mill holiday cottages. I've visited the farm and their animals are superbly cared for and animal welfare there is paramount. These locks have been brushed out, so are perfect for rerooting dolls, or for beards for gnomes, tomtes, or felting figures Grey Faced Dartmoor locks are perfect for doll making, felting, crocheting, and other fibre crafts. Available as a 28g, 14g or 7g bunch. Mule - Blue Faced Leicester x swaledale, hand dyed ginger- 10g bunch wool locksOur Mule locks! Mules are a cross between a Blue faced Leicester and a swaledale sheep. Natural and undyed, these came from Ian's flock, a local farmer who supplies me with winter hay and straw, and I buy fleeces from him Sold in a 10g bunch with an approx 9" staple length. Perfect wool locks, which are really popular for santa beards, tomtes and other fae folk! Great for felting, both needle felting or wet felting, and is popular with doll artists for rerooting, or making wigs. Due to the nature of this fibre, despite being washed mutiple times, a small amount of dirt may remain on some of the tips. This can usually be removed by lightly rubbing, or you could wash out the ends a little more if needed. As with all of our fibre, there may be a small amount of VM in the locks
Blue
blue and green curly wool locks, 7gIntroducing our new mini locks, mini bunches! 100% hand processed and hand dyed in a blue and green mix theme. These well separated whitewater locks are approx 3-7" (some may be a touch shorter or longer) and are sold in 7g bunch. White water is a cross breed of sheep - teeswater and white faced dartmoor. The fleece is super soft, and silky, and is perfect for arts such as needle or wet felting, or for doll making, and other fibre crafts. There may be a small amount of VM, however they have been picked through thoroughly. This fibre comes from Clives's flock, a farmer close to my own farm. I have personally visited their farm and met Clive, and can confirm he keeps his animals to exceptionally high welfare standards - some of his sheep have attained high rankings in the Royal Cornwall Show! Masham fleece is is soft, and squashy! Not as silky as our masham/teeswater cross breed fibre, this has a slightly more coarse texture, and thicker, more wavy ringlets. It perfect for arts such as needle or wet felting, or for doll making, and other fibre crafts. Felting Mat, 100% UK Herdwick Wool, A3 size, approx 42 cm x 30 cmNew to our store! 100% UK sourced herdwick wool mats/pads Our brand new felting mats are made from 100% UK sourced herdwick wool, and has been professionally felted onto a centre of hessian. Measuring approx 42cm x 30 cm with a thickness of 1cm. Our mats do not have covers, so some customers may prefer to make a cover for them so that the herdwick fibres do not shed onto their work, but this is purely a matter of preference for each artist. I prefer not to cover my mats as I find covers can blunt needles quickly! Herdwick wool is exceptionally tough and durable, so your felting pads will last a long time! Our mats are 100% biodegradable, so when you have finished with it, you can then use it in your garden, for example around tender plants to help reduce slug damages! Please note our mats are hand cut, which means there may be some slight variation in sizes, and edges may not be perfectly straight!

Goatally Gorgeous Pure Mohair Yarn, Hand Dyed in baby blue and natural (v)Our Goatally Gorgeous mohair yarn is 100% pure mohair - so doesn't contain any synthetics, wool, or other fibres, like many mohair blends. It was grown by all of the Tregaver Goats - our non-slaughter herd which have a home for us for life. Fibre was grown by Barvus, Barthek and Bolitho, our 3 wether boys, and Boudicca and Baya, our two girls. Professionally spun by the Natural Fibre Company in Launceston, Cornwall, this mohair yarn is spun as a light aran weight yarn, and each hank is 50g , with a length of 90m.

Warm Chestnut Wensleydale wool locks, 28g 14g 7g 6-8"100% hand processed and hand dyed in a warm chestnut mixture of tones - brown with some pink orange tones in differing lights. These long Wensleydale locks are approx 6-8" and are sold in a 28g, 14g or 7g bunches The fleece is super soft, and silky, and is perfect for arts such as needle or wet felting, or for doll making, and other fibre crafts. 28g will be perfect for doll makers who wish to make wigs, or glue the fibre to the doll hair, and will do one standard Monster High type doll For doll makers that prefer to look at the diameter of bunch, it is around 8-10cm, (3-4") which is a good indication of the size head the fibre would cover. It consists of wools from our own flock, mixed with some Devon and Cornwall Longwool from Tregondale, and some Perendale from Hannah's Flock. Our carded wool felts wonderfully - the Devon and Cornwall Longwool wool gives it a coarser texture, which means it's fast to felt. It's then been hand dyed by myself. To get the best results from our carded wool, take the length and gently pull side to side to free up the fibres, and it will form a mesh that's easy to use in all felted creations and other fibre arts.
