These are from our 'budget' mix, so are slightly imperfect ringlets.... they may have a little more VM in them, they may have tips missing, they may have 'fluffed out' and separated slightly or have an uneven take up of dye. Therefore, they are not perfect enough to make it into our superb regular bunches; however, they are perfect for craft projects where a small amount of curly fibre is required. Our budget mixes are always changing - therefore the photos attached are only indicative of the ringlets you will receive. The fibre is still soft, and silky, and is perfect for arts such as needle or wet felting, or for doll making, and other fibre crafts. These are MIXED FIBRE bunches, so you may receive locks from different breeds of curly wool sheep! All our fibre comes from our own flock, plus other flocks I've Visited to ensure superb animal welfare standards.

The Spirit of Spring includes: 6 x spring inspired colours of 10g (approx) of carded wool 20g Spring Time mix curly wool More about our fibres: Our carded wool has been professionally carded by the Natural Fibre Company in Launceston, Cornwall. It consists of wools from our own flock, mixed with some Devon and Cornwall Longwool from Tregondale, and some Perendale from Hannah's Flock. Our carded wool felts wonderfully - the Devon and Cornwall Longwool wool gives it a coarser texture, which means it's fast to felt. It's then been hand dyed by myself. To get the best results from our carded wool, take the length and gently pull side to side to free up the fibres, and it will form a mesh that's easy to use in all felted creations and other fibre arts. I've been asked many times if I would run a 'sponsor a sheep' or 'adopt and animal' type of scheme. I'm looking into setting this up this year, however, I thought I'd begin by giving customers and website visitors the option to buy the sheep and goats a bale! All sales from this item will go towards either hay or straw bales, or their feed, or vet bills. It must be noted that you will not receive a sheep or a goat if you buy this item! It is a way for me to carry on producing the best quality fibre, from my non slaughter flock and herd, and a way for you to support small farmers like myself, if you don't actually need to buy any of my products. I've hummed and ah'd about doing this - I'm not a charity, and I cover all expenses for the livestock either from my sales, or out of my own pocket. After being asked several times if I could set up a system such as this, I've finally decided to add the opportunity to my website!

100% hand processed and hand dyed teeswater fibre! This fibre has been hand dyed in a variety of rainbow tones. The fleece is super soft, and silky, and is perfect for arts such as needle or wet felting, or for doll making, and other fibre crafts. This fibre is various members of our our non slaughter flock of Teeswaters in Cornwall, UK. All our sheep taken care of to very high welfare standards, and most have Cornish or Celtic names! Our land on which they graze is managed without the use of man-made chemicals. You can be assured that our sheep will live out their natural lives with us, which makes our products attractive to vegetarians, or those concerned about animal welfare. This curly wool is loose fibre, which has been separated but is not in perfect locks. White water is a cross breed of sheep - teeswater and white faced dartmoor. The fleece is super soft, and silky, and is perfect for arts such as needle or wet felting, or for doll making, and other fibre crafts. There may be a small amount of VM, however they have been picked through thoroughly. This fibre comes from Clives's flock, a farmer close to my own farm. I have personally visited their farm and met Clive, and can confirm he keeps his animals to exceptionally high welfare standards - some of his sheep have attained high rankings in the Royal Cornwall Show!
