Herdwick and Valias Blacknose wool locks 10g for felting and doll hair

Unusual but beautiful!

I managed to find a herdwick cross with valais blacknose fleece from a fellow sheep keeper.

The locks on this one were very interesting - although most of the fleece was white and cream, there are aspects that were grey, silver, and some brown tones too

It definiately has herdwick in the genetics!  You will find some kemp (hollow hair fibres) in these locks, which is a natural characteristic of herdwick sheep, which makes it a coarse fibre.

A lovely texture with a clear wave, some locks are almost cream and white, others may have strands of grey and silver, some have brown tones, and some are very dark. Each lock is unique - which is really unusual for a single fleece!  So many colours and tones throughout.

Each bunch weighs 10g. Carefully prepared to keep their structure, they’re ready to use straight from the bundle.

Perfect for needle felting or doll hair, they would also make amazing manes, tails on horses and ponies, donkeys or more, and would be fab for beards on gnomes tomtes  and other mythical creatures!
